Malé, Maldives – On Sunday night, Maldives Police Service intercepted a large amount of drugs being transported via a pickup on the streets of Malé.
The seize was made on Sosun Magu (road) around 20:30, following which many packets of substances believed to be drugs were laid out on the road by the officers on scene as they continued to search the vehicle.
However, Police is yet to make an official statement regarding the matter.
From what can be observed by photos from the scene, the intercepted substance packets were packed in cardboard boxes.
This seize comes less than a week after authorities nabbed a foreigner attempting to smuggle drugs into the Maldives via sea.
