Addu City, Maldives – A 19-year-old Maldivian male was arrested on Thursday during a drug bust by the Addu City Hulhumeedhoo Police station.
The suspect has been remanded till the end of trial by the Hulhumeedhoo Magistrate Court.
The joint operation was conducted by Addu City Hulhumeedhoo Police station and the police intelligence unit to foil a drug operation of drug smuggling to the island via ferries.
Police arrested the suspect exiting the ferry carrying packets of substances suspected to be drugs.
