Malé, Maldives – People’s Majlis, the Parliament of the Maldives on Saturday confirmed that Speaker Mohamed Nasheed will be traveling to India in an official capacity on Sunday.
According to the statement, the purpose of this trip is to participate in the Raisina Dialogue 2022, which is an annual international conference held by the External Affairs Ministry of India, in collaboration with Observer Research Foundation (ORF).
This year’s conference will be held from 25th to 27th April, in New Delhi.
It has also been confirmed that Nasheed has been scheduled to speak at the event, in which he will focus on the relationship between climate change and livelihood, as well as on countries in debt, which result in loss of land ownership.
Apart from attending the conference, Nasheed will also meet with the Speaker of the Indian Parliament, the External Affairs Ministry of the country, as well as other top level officials.
