Malé, Maldives – The Maldives Police Service has confirmed that a 55-year-old Maldivian man has been arrested and remanded for sexual abuse of multiple children.
Police confirmed that the 55 year old was arrested on April 9 for a case reported in March 2022 and has been remanded by Criminal Court for 30 days.
Local news reports that the man is suspected of sexually abusing 6 children from the same family under his care for a long period of time. He is also accused of blackmailing the minors with photographs.
