First sitting of second parliamentary session ends early

Malé, Maldives – The first sitting of the second session of the parliament for this year ended early on Monday as no bills were proposed by the government.

With only questioning of Minister of Tourism Abdulla Mausoom on the agenda today, the sitting ended in approximately 30 minutes.

The sitting was closed since there are no pending bills for the floor with the majority in the committee stage and no new bills have been proposed by the government.

Twenty bills are currently been evaluated by nine committees of the parliament.
