Maldivian family injured in bus accident at Turkey

Addu City, Maldives – Addu Mayor Ali Nizar on Friday confirmed that a Maldivian family suffered injuries during a bus accident in Turkey.

Mayor Nizar stated that the family of four from Addu City, Feydhoo district suffered various degrees of injuries in a bus accident at Istanbul on Thursday.

The four injured are a family of three, parents and child and a relative.

Nizar confirmed that one of the parents dislocated their shoulder while initial reports suggest that others dislocated their jaw and sustained head injuries.

While Addu City Council is unable to directly reach the family in Istanbul, they report that the injuries are not life threatening.

UPDATE (14:55)

Recent reports state that the family includes parents, two children ages 12 and 5 with an additional relative.

While the adults suffered aforementioned injuries, the 5 year old was reported to be in the ICU with internal bleeding into the brain.

The 12 year old survived with no injuries.

International Aid Campaign is assisting the Maldivian family at this time.
