Malé, Maldives – Maldives Police Service has taken three individuals into custody, following an incident of street violence in Malé City last night.
It has been reported that the incident, which took place on Filigas Magu was reported to the authority at 20:30. Police revealed that by the time they got to the location, the suspects had already fled the scene.
However, three individuals were taken into custody later last night.
An unverified video of the incident has been circulating on social media, which shows six individuals participating in physical altercations on the road. Many were seen unable to move ahead on the road due to the incident, but no one appeared to attempt to dissolve the situation.
This was the second such incident that took place yesterday. The first violent incident of yesterday took in the Media Net office located in Orchid Magu. In the incident, the office was broken into and a staff member was injured.
Police are investigating both incidents.
