Malé, Maldives – A 23 year old has been arrested to attempting to smuggle drugs into the country via Post.
The unnamed individual is a woman, and was arrested on Saturday for the attempted import of more than one kilogram of drugs in a parcel.
The woman since been remanded to five days, as per the Criminal Court’s remand order. It has also been reported that sufficient evidence was presented against the individual, and that drugs were also found in the possession of the said individual.
Police are now investigating the case, and no further information is available to the public with regards to the matter.
