Maldives begins joint navy exercise with India

Malé, Maldives – “Exercise Ekatha 2022”, a joint exercise between Indian navy and Maldivian National Defence Force (MNDF) has commenced in Maldives.

The exercise, which is being conducted in the central area command of MNDF will go on until October 3, 2022. The inauguration event of the exercise was held in Kadhhoo island of Laamu atoll, with Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Navin Zubair, the Director of MNDF Marine Corp and the chief guest.

The event was also attended by the Indian Defence Advisor to the Maldives Captain Mahesh C. Moudgil, and the Deputy Commander of MNDF central area command, Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Faseeh.

The training is attended by 30 special operations group officers of the MNDF marine corp and 10 Indian navy commandos. The exercise will focus on combat shoot, VBSS, demolition, CQB, divator diving, rebreather diving and diving operations.
