Malé, Maldives – The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has officially sponsored the Maldives Media Council (MMC)’s Journalism Awards.
The announcement was made by MMC, which details that the Embassy is the Supporting Partner of the 2021 Journalism Awards due to be held next month.
The official signing of the understanding took place yesterday at the Saudi Embassy. In this ceremony, MMC was represented by President of the Council Mohamed Shafau, and by His Excellency Matrek Abdullah Al-Ajalin Aldosari from the Embassy of Saudi Arabia.
MMC revealed that the sponsorship was offered by the Embassy, making this the first time a foreign embassy sponsors the award.
With the award set to be held on the 12th of next month, the award ceremony will feature 12 categories, for which 82 nominations have already been received, said MMC.
