Hulhumalé, Maldives – Police have arrested two Maldivians for dealing in counterfeit dollars at a large scale.
A 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested in an operation conducted in Hulhumalé.
The two were arrested in a joint operation conducted by the economic crime department and intelligence department of Maldives Police Service.
The two were produced before the Hulhumalé Magistrate’s Court for remand. Both were remanded in custody for five days at a place to be determined by the Home Ministry.
The Economic Crime Department is investigating the case.
