Malé, Maldives – Transport and Civil Aviation of Maldives has announced that digital driving licenses will be allowed to be used from next Sunday onward.

The ministry said the road vehicle driving license service will be made available digitally from next Sunday as part of the newly designed software aimed at improving the quality and ease of access to the services provided by the ministry.

With the launch of the service, the ministry’s digital license, which can be seen on the police mobile application, Police MV, will be accepted as the license of drivers.

If the license shown in the police application is a valid, the Ministry has instructed the police to accept it as a valid license.

“This change will reduce the current cost of printing. Although the license will be issued digitally, those who wish to keep their license cards printed will also be given the opportunity,” the ministry said.

All driving license services have been suspended since last Sunday to improve the quality of services provided by the Ministry of Transport.

The new software will also allow license applications and other services to be digitalized. The license will also be issued digitally.
