3 hostages rescued from a house in Malé City

Police have rescued three Maldivian men who were held hostage in a house in Malé City.

Police said in a statement that they had received a tip-off that some people had been kidnapped at a house and that they had entered the house using force.

Police said the three hostages were rescued and taken to the IGMH. However, police did not give any further details.

Police did not disclose the injuries sustained by the hostages.

Two people have been arrested in the case. A child was among those arrested, the agency said.

Police said they are investigating the incident
