Covid-19: 13 more positive cases and 98 recoveries

Male’ Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) disclosed that 13 more cases have been confirmed positive for Covid-19 in Maldives.

A tweet from HPA states that as of 6 p.m yesterday, 13 cases have been confirmed. They are 7 Maldivian nationals, 5 Bangladeshi nationals and 1 of Indonesian national.

Including the 13 cases confirmed today, the total number of confirmed cases in Maldives has now risen to 1916.

They have also disclosed that 98 people have recovered from the virus. Therefore, the total number of recovered cases in Maldives is now at 925.

While the second most confirmed cases in Maldives are of Maldivian citizens, the most number of confirmed cases are of immigrant workers living in Maldives.

The majority of those who have recovered are of Maldivian nationality.

At present, there are 981 active cases and 8 have passed away in Maldives. Among the deceased are 4 Maldivians and 4 foreigners.

While 1,049 people are in isolation facilities, 428 are in quarantine facilities.
