Addu City, Maldives — Two Ministers to be presented at the meeting held by the Parliament Committee on National Development And Heritage of Maldives to discuss and find a solution for the multiple issues that are being faced by the students of Addu flying school run by Asian Academy of Aeronautics (AAA).

While the meeting is scheduled to be held at 1130hrs today, the Two Ministers the Committee has decided to present are the Higher Education Minister of Maldives, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan and the Transport and Civil Aviation Minister of Maldives, Aishath Nahula. Along with the two Ministers, the meeting will also be attended by several members in the departments of the ministry.

In addition to this, three members of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will also be presented to the Committee in this meeting.

The members of this Committee had recently visited Addu City regarding the Flying School issues to discuss about how the issues that are being faced by the students of the Flying School can be solved at the earliest.

During the two day trip to Addu City, the committee met with the students who are studying at the flying school, higher authorities of the flying school, Addu City Council and the members of CAA as well.

Over the past months, several complaints from the students of the Flying School have caught the attention of many people through social media.

Some of the issues faced by the students include of having their courses extended to more than four years for local students although it should be completed within 18 months. This is because the school has not conducted the required classes on time, and hence the extensions have caused extensive financial strain on students.

In addition to this, several complaints have also risen saying that the school does not conduct essential training and terminate students without valid reasons.

While there are 40 students waiting in list to participate in the flying school check ride, there are currently only two aircrafts available for the students to use.
