Fuvahmulah, Maldives – Five new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded from Fuvahmulah City during the past 24hrs.
Fuvahmulah Emergency Operations Center (FEOC) informed that from 1800hrs of February 14th till 1800hrs of February 15, the city has confirmed additional five Covid-19 cases.
The FEOC detailed that the confirmed new five cases found positive during the sampling taken during contact tracing being done in Fuvahmulah City.
With the additional five cases which have been recorded today, the total number of active cases in Fuvahmulah City has risen to 24 and a total of 760 direct contacts have been identified so far. Within these direct contacts, 45 high risk people and 12 people with symptoms were identified by FEOC.
According to authorities, one cluster is connected to an individual who was in quarantine after arriving to the city from Dubai, while the other cluster was identified when two individuals consulted the flu clinic in the city.
Since the first Covid-19 positive case out of quarantine, the single island city has been placed under monitoring, with strict movement restrictions until all contacts are identified, quarantined and tested.
