Malé, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) has confirmed that a 60th Covid-19 death has been recorded in the Maldives.
While HPA has confirmed this, the authority refrained from revealing the identity of the individual, as done in other cases. However, it has been confirmed that the demised is local actor Hassan Manik (Koyya Hassan Manik) who was receiving care at the ICU of the 11th floor of Dharumavantha Hospital, which is the dedicated Covid-19 ICU.
Manik, who served the Maldivian entertainment sector for years was featured in famous local movies such as E Bappa, Dhanmalhi and Maadeh Neiy.
Messages of condolences to his family and prayers for his soul have flooded social media since the news of his passing.
