Addu City, Maldives – In a special operation made by the Maldives Police Service Addu City Gan station, two people were arrested with bottles that contain suspected alcohol, from Feydhoo.
The two that were arrested were a 19 year old and a 42 year old male. They were arrested after Police received information that a taxi travelling from Hithadhoo to Feydhoo contained alcohol, and were apprehended on the road connecting MaradhooFeydhoo and Feydhoo at 14:25 yesterday.
In the taxi that was stopped and searched, the Police found 7 bottles of 500ml which contained a substance suspected to be alcohol.
Gan Police previously raided an alcohol brewing set-up earlier this month, on May 11, in a police operation after receiving intelligence of such an operation from an unrevealed source. Police have now taken the equipment into custody.
The Police are still investigating the case and have not disclosed whether there is a connection between the two cases.
