Male’ Maldives – Spain’s leading travel application Passporter promoted Maldives as part of its campaign with Visit Maldives.

The campaign launched in April 2021, invited popular influencers Aida Domenech Pascual, Alba Paul Ferrer, Paula Gonzalez Nuñez and Jonathan Bettran Wiergo from Spain to showcase Maldives on the Passporter App.

The Spanish influencers, along with their content creation teams spent a week in Maldives, hosted by Cocoon Maldives, Fushifaru Maldives and Kuramathi Maldives.

After the visit, informative and engaging pieces were written on the three resorts. The pieces included property information, activities available for travellers such as spa, numerous water sports activities and fishing among other experiences.

Visit Maldives projected that with over 500,000 unique users and over 82,000 followers on Instagram, contents published on Passporter will garner over three million engagements and 400,000 likes for the posts.

Visit Maldives noted that Spain was one of the key markers for Maldivian tourism with over 36,064 arrivals in 2019, and was also one of the leading markets once Maldives re-opened its borders in July 2020. The latest figures published in February 2021 reveal that 4,307 Spanish travellers arrived in Maldives since borders opened.

Passporter App is one of the most widely used platforms which connects destinations with travellers. The app has been number one in downloads under the travel category in the Spanish market and has won many prestigious awards in the photography and travel segments.
