Addu City, Maldives – 14 new Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in Hithadhoo, Addu City today.
It was revealed that three out of the fourteen people were those who consulted the flu clinic in Hithadhoo after they developed symptoms and the remaining were direct contacts.
The new cases come while easements were given to Hithadhoo district yesterday following several days of low number of cases.
The increased cases came from a cluster with over 17 confirmed cases identified in the Hithadhoo district on June 13, 2021.
Following the identification of this cluster, the Mayor of Addu City, Ali Nizar cautioned the people of Addu against having workers come in for domestic chores during this time, as contact tracing efforts are underway to determine the extent of the spread.
