Addu City, Maldives – Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) has revealed that additional 23 new Covid-19 cases have tested positive in Addu City over the past 24 hours raising the positive cases active in the city to 99.
While 19 of the new cases were from the Maradhoo district, two Covid-19 cases were confirmed from Hithadhoo and Maradhoofeydhoo, each. All new cases were of locals, where 20 of the cases were direct contacts of previous cases, two cases were from the flu clinic and one was a random sample.
Although Hithadhoo had the most number of cases over the past month, at present, the most severely Covid-19 affected island in Addu City is Maradhoo, having 79 active cases, while Hithadhoo currently has only five active cases. AEOC informs that Feydhoo has six active cases and Maradhoofeydhoo has nine active cases present in the island.
With these cases the total number of positive cases recorded in Addu City reached 661, out of which 99 cases remain active.
Till date, 560 patients made full recoveries in Addu City. The new cases come while monitoring was lifted on July 19, 2021.
