COVID-19: Cases increase steadily in Addu City

Addu City, Maldives – Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) reveals that Addu City has recorded additional 12 cases.

The statistics released by AEH shows that with the additional 12 cases confirmed yesterday, the total number of active cases in Addu City has risen to 232.

At present, the most number of active cases are in Feydhoo with 113 cases, followed by Hithadhoo with 76 active Covid-19 cases and Maradhoo with 22 cases, while Maradhoofeydhoo has 19 cases and Gan has no active cases.

AEH further informs that there are 2 active cases in Meedhoo and no active cases in Hulhudhoo as of this Monday.

Additionally, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) reveals that 65 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the Maldives. It was detailed that out of the 65 cases, 19 were from the Malé area, while 42 cases were recorded from inhabited islands. The figures also revealed that 4 new cases were found from operational resorts, adding upto 1,477 active cases in the country.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Maldives has reached 85,107 out of which 83,385 patients have made full recoveries, as of October 4, 2021.

The Maldives continues the trend of higher percentage of cases recorded in the islands outside capital city Malé.
