Doctor suspended pending investigation after the death of 3 month old

GDh Atoll – Dr Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital has suspended a foreign doctor after a 3-month-old baby admitted at the hospital passes away.

While the baby tested positive for Covid-19 on 4 October 2021, the authorities declared that the cause of death was non-related to Covid-19 as 16 days had passed since testing positive.

Dr Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital informs that the baby boy was brought to the Thinadhoo Covid Management Facility at 05:00 on Monday. He passed away shortly after. The hospital has not identified the cause of death.

The family of the 3-month-old allege negligence by the hospital regarding his death.
