COVID-19: Addu City records 42 new cases in 24hrs

Addu City, Maldives – Addu Emergency Operation Center reveals that 42 people tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.

The statistics released by AEH shows that with the additional 42 cases confirmed yesterday, the total number of active cases in Addu City has risen to 277.

At present, the highest number of active cases are in Hithadhoo with 128 cases, followed by Maradhoo with 74 active Covid-19 cases and Feydhoo with 51 cases, while Maradhoofeydhoo has 4 cases.

AEH further informs that there are 12 active cases in Meedhoo and 7 active cases in Hulhudhoo as of this Sunday.

Additionally, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) reveals that 131 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the Maldives. Of the 131 new cases, 28 were from the Malé area, while 95 cases were recorded from inhabited islands. The figures also revealed that 8 new cases were found from operational resorts, adding upto 1,836 active cases in the country.

With this Maldives continues the trend of higher percentage of cases recorded in the islands.
