Addu Equatorial Hospital stops home sample collections amid escalating cases

Addu City, Maldives – Addu Equatorial Hospital today stated that due to the escalating number of positive Covid-19 cases in the city, the southernmost city has ceased home visits to collect samples.

Sample collection centers have now been established in 4 districts of Addu City to collect release samples, contact samples and samples from symptomatic direct contacts.

The locations and collection timings are,

  • Hithadhoo flu clinic – 18:00 – 21:00
  • Maradhoo, Maradhoofeydhoo Dhamanaveshi – 14:00 to 18:00
  • Feydhoo Health Center – 14:00 to 18:00
  • Hulhumeedhoo flu clinic – 09:00 – 11:00

As of 18:00 on Tuesday, the Southernmost city of Maldives reported 125 new cases with over 300 active cases in Hithadhoo district. The active cases in the city has jumped to 807 with 3 hospitalizations. 15 deaths have been reported from Addu City since the Covid-19 pandemic started.
