Malé, Maldives – Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has opened up the opportunity for women to train as bus drivers.
MTCC announced the opportunity under its Hunavaru Programme inaugurated during a special ceremony held at Maafannu bus terminal. Under this program, the company is seeking to train 20 female bus drivers.
The three month long, paid training programme will be held six days a week for eight hours a day. Participants will receive an allowance of MVR 5,000 and will also be granted 10 days of occupational sick leave throughout the training.
Interested candidates must hold Maldivian nationality and must be over the age of 18, with an A1/A0 category drivers license in order to be considered. Additionally, applicants must be interested in the field and must be in good health, as well as have no criminal records, said the announcement.
The company also revealed that it is seeking to train an additional 20 bus drivers, which the company does not have a special gender preference for. Interested candidates applying in this category must hold a B1 license.
All interested candidates are urged to submit their applications via their online job portal prior to 12:00 am of 22nd March, 2022.
