Malé, Maldives – STELCO has said that the company is working on resuming its online services which has been suspended due to a ransomware attack on its system.
As a remedy to the ongoing disruption in services, STELCO said that until online services are back up, form submission and bill payment services will be available from the company’s head office. As for the services provided via the company website and mobile application as well as services provided from regional offices, STELCO said that efforts are being into resuming these services by today.
In the initial statement released by the STELCO, it was explained that the website, mobile application, mobile outlets and all services provided over the counter by STELCO got interrupted on Thursday.
STELCO’s statement regarding the attacks came three days after local IT expert Dr. Nash Rafeeq revealed that the company’s systems were under attack.
