Malé, Maldives – Parking vehicles in any area of Majeedhee Magu (road) of Malé City has been banned by the government today.
With the ban, Malé City Council has depicted illustrations on the road indicating to motorists that parking on the road is now illegal. No parking cones have also been placed on the road by the Police.
In addition to this, the City Council is also working on correcting the traffic indications on Majeedhee Magu as well.
Although the City Council is yet to give out a statement or comment regarding the ban, the council did state earlier that it was working on implementing parking bans on some of the bigger roads of the city such as Majeedhee Magu, Ameenee Magu, Fareedhee Magu and Orchid Magu, upon the request of the government, in time for the implementation of minibus services by MTCC.
With this, parking zones on these roads will be relocated to the following areas:
- Area from H. Samosa Villa’s land plot
- Two areas from Ekuveni Track
- Near Dharubaaruge
- Area near Coral Boulevard (Near Rasfannu)
Mini bus services in Malé City are expected to commence within three weeks from July 31, 2022, the government said.
