MPS brings changes to senior levels of the institution

Male’, Maldives – Maldives Police Service (MPS) has brought several major changes to the senior levels of the institution on Thursday.

The changes brought have been disclosed by MPS as, the appointment of Dr. Adullah Fairoosh as the head of the Resource Management Department. Fairoosh, who is also the Assistant Commissioner of Police was previously responsible overlooking the Central Policing Command, due to the Covid-19 situation.

Another change brought to the higher ranks of the institution is the appointment of Assistant Commissioner of Police Ali Rasheed as the head of Divisional Policing Command, who was previously in charge of the Resource Management Department as well as the interim head of the Divisional Policing Department, after Fairoosh had to take over the Central Policing Department during the pandemic

The changes also saw Chief Superintendent of Police Asim Abdullah as the head of Northern Division of the Divisional Policing Command. He was previously working as the head of Support Service of the Divisional Policing Command.

Further, with the role of Police at the National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) coming to an end, the head of Central Policing Command, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ismail Naveen has been reinstated back as the head of the the Central Policing Command. Along with this, Chief Superintendent of Police Abdulla Shareef has been appointed as the new head of Maldive City Police, which is run under the Central Policing Command. He was previously posted as the head of Northern Division.

MPS has further revealed that these changes are in accordance with the work done to achieve strategic goals as per the 2019 – 2023 action plan.
